Sigma News - March 2024
Campaign Recap
Brothers,
2023 was quite a year for our chapter!
Our collegiate members moved into our near-complete new House in mid-January and they continue to enjoy ample space and new amenities (a semester at Wentz dorm certainly helped raise their level of appreciation).
We had many firsts/milestone events in our new chapter home: first initiation on February 11th; first Frontier Ball in late February; first Greek Discovery Days; first Mom’s Day; House Dedication celebrations on April 22nd; first Career Day (with exceptional alumni involvement); first Homecoming in the new house with Gamma Phis; first Freshman Follies in the new house with the Kappas; first Varsity Revue in the new house with the Thetas.
Coincidently, we raised our chapter GPA to 3.40 and received our 14th Rock Chapter!
We could NOT have accomplished these first-year milestones without the guidance and faithful support of our strong alumni base. The bar has been raised and it continues to be elevated to Excellence! We are so appreciative of the incredible base of alumni! A Big THANK YOU for ALL You Do!
The goal of the Centennial Campaign was to fund as much of the project as possible with private philanthropy. We have done very well in raising $6.4 million to-date.
While the over-the-top goal was $10.5 million for the project vision, our realistic goal was $7.5 million! We also wanted to have 100% of all living brothers participate in some fashion…we have achieved approximately 30%.
Let’s get to 50%!
Please help Sigma Nu reach these next levels…for the Brotherhood that we all love so dearly.
If you have not pledged, do so now! If you have already pledged, STEP UP to the Next Level with an additional gift! PAY IT FORWARD!!

FINANCIAL RECAP:
Many alums are curious how we have done on the Centennial Campaign.
Over several years, the new house plan was brought forth in late 2018 and the fundraising campaign started in 2019. After a COVID-driven delay with relative cost increases, construction started in June 2021 and was mostly completed by March 2023 with a total project cost of $12.4MM including furniture, equipment, and design fees.
We closed on a $7 million mortgage and a $2 million bridge loan with roughly $4 million of the project cost secured (from campaign pledges received at that point). We closed on mortgage portion of project in August 2023. We ended 2023 with $6.4 million in gifts/pledges secured; $5.3M of those pledges have been received to date.
