Kelly

Miller

GRADUATION YEAR: 1987

EE #: 1592

LIVES IN: Nichols Hills, OK

SHORT BIO:

Kelly arrived at the Sigma Nu house in 1983, the same year the legal drinking age increased to 21 resulting in the demise of Streakers Night tradition.

He was a Business Senator, Top Ten Freshman boasting the lowest grade point Top 10 recipient ever inducted as the relative standards changed immediately.

He also served as rush chairman for OKC.

Following graduation in 1987, Kelly joined the family business at Professional Insurors in OKC, focusing on commercial Insurance. This was during the Oil Bust and Saving & Loan crisis, so it was a challenging time for all in the Oklahoma business community. The agency immediately downsized from 26 people to 7 and Kelly and his father began a rebuild.

Kelly has served as a board member of the Independent Insurance agents of Oklahoma, Chairman of the Greenwich Group International, Advisory board of InCite Performance Group and Treasurer of the OKC Commercial Real Estate Council. He purchased the agency from his father in 2009 and currently is President and CEO serving clients in 20+ states.

Kelly started the Epsilon Epsilon Alumni Golf Tournament in the mid 90’s and host the Sigma Nu Cocktail Party annually at his office. He has been an active member of our Advisory Board focusing on Rush since the early 90’s. His Rush fundraising focuses on getting the alumni together for fellowship and brotherhood and asking many to contribute a little vs asking a few to foot the bill for everyone.

FAVORITE MEMORY as an ACTIVE:

Kelly’s favorite college memories include the Frontier Ball events with Garth Brooks performing in the living room for $100 and a case Coors Light long necks.

Another fun memory is the Natives are Restless party where the living room was transformed into a jungle scene with the walls and ceiling covered with paper machete to look like a cave, Tropical plants and the floor covered in sand with a water fall and river running through it representing an AWESOME spring rush party.

Kelly has fond memories of an impromptu spring break road trip to Padre Island in a borrowed cargo van, lawn chairs for seats and a cooler of cold beer. College life at its best :)

Kelly said, Sigma Nu wasn’t just a fraternity club to him, it taught him significant life skills to include discipline, time management, structured project management, how to think on his feet, about doing more than required, and working with others. To this day, Kelly can relate his incredible business success to those foundational principles, values and skillsets earned at the Epsilon Epsilon chapter.

Grantham

GRADUATION YEAR: 2002

EE #: 2008
LIVES IN: Stillwater, OK

SHORT BIO:

Sigma Nu was a blessing for me coming out of Duncan High School.

My story is that I struggled immensely as a student and no doubt had some learning disabilities that are more easily recognized today vs 30 years ago. But at that time, you just powered through. I came in scared and on academic probation and decided to try this Sigma Nu thing and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I immediately had two seniors that took me under their wing and helped me navigate my way, Tim Frickenschmidt and Brent Niles.

Tim poured into me and helped me weekly to stay on track and give me structure. I was overwhelmed as a pledge trying to keep up with all the pledge duties and while pursuing acceptable grades. You never want to admit that you can't keep up (pride is a killer) but I went to my pledge trainer Jake Winsett and a couple pledge brothers, Steve York and Lane Krieger, and told them of my struggles. They gave me structure, more time to study and helped me through the toughest but most rewarding semester of college. That is what Sigma Nu gave me.

Mentorship. Confidence. Peer Support. Grace. Acceptance.

There are so many stereotypes about the fraternity life, but these represent some of the key contributions my brothers invested into me. What a difference maker.

FAVORITE MEMORY as an ACTIVE:

The best times I remember are the late-night talks about life, dreams, struggles etc. The relationships last a lifetime. Thank you to my brothers of Sigma Nu.

Jeff Scott Wood

GRADUATION YEAR: 1989

EE #: 1657
LIVES IN: Edmond, OK

SHORT BIO:

Jeff Scott Wood graduated in ‘89 as Sigma Nu Alpha Affiliate and National Talent of the Year. Jeff was also a Top Ten graduate In the School of Business at Oklahoma State University.

Following his college graduation, Jeff, an aspiring singer-songwriter, tested the waters in Nashville thanks to the guidance of his OSU alumni friend, Garth Brooks. But Jeff decided that he wasn’t quite ready for Music City…not yet anyway, and came back home to begin law school at Oklahoma City University. In his third year of law school, the music bug got to him-as well as a renowned Nashville producer who after hearing some of Jeff’s songs, encouraged him to move to Nashville immediately. Within one year of moving to Nashville, Jeff had written a number-one song for John Michael Montgomery and also landed a record deal with Capitol Records.

Over the next few years Jeff had three top-40 songs as a solo artist and also had many of his songs recorded by several platinum-selling artists. Jeff now lives in Edmond, Oklahoma, with his wife, Farrah, and children. He is the VP of Business Development for VENU, a company designing, developing and managing a host of luxurious amphitheaters.

Jeff still writes and records music, and has an album coming out in April 2026 titled, Jeff Scott Wood-Swan Song, which includes 14 of Jeff’s favorite originally-penned songs.

FAVORITE MEMORY as an ACTIVE:

One of Jeff’s favorite collegiate memories was the first night (Thursday) of three consecutive parties-Frontier Ball 1990. This party was always held in the Snake living room, and it was a very laid-back informal evening with dates and live acoustic music . Our special guest that played for us in 1990 was Garth Brooks. He left for Nashville only a few months after this and became the top-selling music artist of all time.

Beyond those moments, Jeff is grateful of Sigma Nu’s leadership platform pushing for excellence in academics, brotherhood and commitment to one’s values. Jeff appreciates 40 years of lifelong EE brothers and still talks to them regularly.

‘Joining Sigma Nu has positively changed my life in countless ways’, states Woody. ‘My membership in Sigma Nu/Epsilon Epsilon Chapter has had a transformational impact on my life’.

Maximum

Waller

GRADUATION YEAR: 2021

EE #: 2632
LIVES IN: Houston, Texas / Boston, Massachusetts

SHORT BIO:

Maximum Waller graduated from the Spears School of Business in 2021 with degrees in Finance and Accounting. He was recognized as a Senior of Significance, an Outstanding Senior, and Sigma Nu’s National Scholar of the Year.

While in school, Maximum co-founded a software company alongside his brother, Christian Waller, serving county sheriff offices across Oklahoma. The company remains in operation today.

Following graduation, Maximum moved to Houston to begin his career in investment banking at Silvercliff Partners and later RBC Capital Markets before transitioning to The Capstreet Group, where he focuses on software and industrial private equity investing.

He remains actively involved with Oklahoma State through leading Spearhead Scholars, an alumni-led initiative focused on placing more OSU students into high finance roles, which he believes provide world class training and open doors to a wide range of career paths.

This summer, Maximum, his wife Nicole, and their dog Winnie will relocate to Boston as he begins his MBA at Harvard Business School. During and after business school, he plans to focus on building successful software and tech enabled services companies back in the heartland.

FAVORITE MEMORY as an ACTIVE:

One of my favorite memories was our pledge class trip to Lexington, Virginia to visit Sigma Nu Headquarters and VMI. I vividly remember how perfect that fall weekend was. The weather was immaculate and everything just felt special. Staying together in the bunkhouse, laughing nonstop, and building bonds that would last far beyond college is something I will never forget.

I also loved when we had Koe Wetzel come perform for Frontier Ball. It was an incredible experience and one of those traditions that makes OSU special, especially getting to celebrate alongside our AGR friends around the corner.

Beyond those moments, I have always appreciated Sigma Nu’s balance of pushing us to excel academically, serve through philanthropy, and still fully enjoy our time on campus. From Admiral to 51, I will forever cherish my time with all of my EE brothers. I truly believe our alumni base is second to none. Sigma Nu has been a massive blessing in my life, and I will forever be grateful.
